  2. Southwestern US Road Trip - Nov-Dec 2011

Bedrock City, Arizona

Bedrock City is located on AZ 64, about halfway between Williams and the Grand Canyon. It is said to have been built in 1972. Heather and I stopped in front of this on a road trip in 1994, but did not go inside. This time we were not about to pass up the opportunity. The grounds were covered in snow, which probably helped in terms of appearance. Because it was very much off-season, and quite cold, not all of the attractions were open. It was still a lot of fun. This is one of the true old-style roadside attractions (sometimes referred to as "tourist traps") of the American West, and should not be missed. It's a lot of entertainment for $4 each.
